Privacy Policy

Effective October 10, 2026

Nimalu Sims makes free and paid mods and custom content (CC) for The Sims 4. This policy explains what information is collected when you visit nimalusims.com, download my mods, or interact with my posts, and how my own publishing tools (Nimalu Sims Studio) use the social media accounts I connect to them.

The short version: I don't sell your information, I don't run ads that track you, and I collect as little as possible.

Information I collect

• Website visits. My site is hosted on Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel automatically receives basic technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit, to deliver the site and keep it secure. I don't use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
• Downloads and memberships. My mods are downloaded through Patreon, CurseForge and similar platforms. When you join or download there, that platform collects your information under its own privacy policy. I can see what those platforms share with creators, such as your display name, membership tier and pledge status. I never receive your full payment details.
• Messages you send me. If you email me, message me, or join my Discord or community, I receive whatever you choose to share, such as your name, username and message, and I use it only to reply and support you.
• Trait Generator. If you use the Nimalu Sims Trait Generator, its own privacy and terms page explains what it handles.

My publishing tools and connected accounts

Nimalu Sims Studio is a private tool used only by me and my team to plan and publish posts about my own Sims 4 content. I connect my own accounts to it (Pinterest, Facebook, Instagram, Threads, YouTube, Patreon and CurseForge) through each platform's official API.

• The Studio uses these connections only to publish my own posts, pins and videos to my own accounts, organize them on my own boards and pages, and read basic statistics about my own accounts (such as follower counts and how my posts are doing).
• It does not collect, store or analyze information about other users, their pins, boards, followers or profiles.
• Access tokens are stored encrypted on secure servers, are never shared or sold, and can be removed at any time by disconnecting the app in the platform's settings.
• Pinterest data is used only as allowed by the Pinterest Developer Guidelines, and Meta (Facebook, Instagram, Threads) data only as allowed by the Meta Platform Terms.

How I use information

• To run the website and deliver downloads.
• To reply to messages and give mod support.
• To publish and schedule my own content, and to understand which posts my community enjoys.
• To keep my site and accounts secure.

I do not sell, rent or trade personal information, and I don't use it for advertising.

Third-party services

My site and tools rely on services that have their own privacy policies: Vercel (hosting), Patreon, CurseForge, Pinterest, Meta (Facebook, Instagram and Threads), YouTube/Google, TikTok, Discord, Ko-fi and Skool. Links to these sites take you to their own terms.

Children's privacy

My site is not directed at children under 13, and I don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent me personal information, contact me and I'll delete it.

Your choices

• You can ask me to see, correct or delete any personal information I have about you.
• You can manage or delete your information on Patreon, CurseForge and social platforms directly in their settings.
• You can block cookies in your browser. The site still works without them.

Data retention and security

I keep information only as long as it's needed for the purposes above, and use reasonable safeguards such as encrypted storage, HTTPS and limited access to protect it.

The Sims 4 and EA

Nimalu Sims is an independent fan creator and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Electronic Arts or Maxis. The Sims is a trademark of Electronic Arts Inc. My mods and CC are fan-made content created under EA's guidelines for user-created content.

Changes to this policy

If I update this policy, I'll post the new version here with a new effective date.
